A MESSAGE FROM SENATOR MARKEY

Nothing is more important to me than the health and safety of you and your family. That is why I am urging you to get the COVID-19 vaccine and, when eligible, the booster. We know there is much more work to do to get this pandemic under control, but the vaccine is the best way to protect our children and families. Along with wearing face masks, the vaccine is our strongest defense against the virus. It is proven safe and is free for everyone in Massachusetts. I helped secure funding in the American Rescue Plan to make sure everyone can get the vaccine, no matter where you live, your income, or your citizenship status. Now it’s our job to get vaccinated and boosted.

VACCINATION RESOURCES
  • All COVID-19 vaccines are free for Massachusetts residents. You do not need money, insurance, or an ID to receive the vaccine.
  • The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines require two doses to be administered in separate appointments. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine only requires one dose.
  • If you received either the Pfizer or Moderna, you can get a booster at least 6 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination series. If you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you can receive a booster at least 2 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination.
  • You can find where and how to get vaccinated at https://vaxfinder.mass.gov
  • At your vaccination appointment, please remember to wear a mask.
  • At your appointment, you’ll receive a vaccination card that will list the type of vaccine you receive, as well as when and where you got it. Keep your vaccine card in a safe place!

The Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Department of Treasury have several loan and grant programs available to small business owners across Massachusetts. These programs were created through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and the American Rescue Plan Act.

The programs include, the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program, the Targeted Economic Injury Disaster Loan Advance (EIDL), and the Restaurant Revitalization Fund.

Q: Is the COVID-19 vaccine safe?
A: YES. The COVID-19 is proven to be safe and effective. The COVID-19 vaccine has undergone rigorous trials and testing before it was approved for public use.

Q: Does it cost money to get the COVID-19 vaccination? Do you need health insurance to get the vaccination?
A: NO. The COVID-19 vaccine is FREE for all individuals in Massachusetts, regardless of citizenship status, and you do NOT need health insurance to receive the vaccine.  

Q: Will getting the vaccine negatively impact a person’s immigration status?
A: NO. Getting the COVID-19 vaccine will not impact your immigration status, and you will not be asked to provide proof of immigration status.

Q: Who can get the vaccine?
A: Everyone 5 years and older can and should get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Q: Who is eligible to get a COVID-19 booster?
A: The FDA/CDC is recommending everyone ages 18 and older get a booster shot.
