FRAMINGHAM - On April 28, 2011, Rep. Edward J. Markey visited the MetroWest Boys and Girls Club’s Pearl Street Clubhouse located in downtown Framingham. Rep. Markey toured the facility and met with many of the Framingham children who take advantage of the club’s services each day after school.
While on the tour of the Clubhouse, Rep. Markey viewed the various educational and recreational programs offered at the site such as the Computer Learning center, the Audio/Visual Room, the Arts and Crafts Room, and the Teen Center. The clubhouse serves over a hundred and seventy- five Framingham children every school day, enhancing their educational development and preparing them to become involved and engaged members of the Framingham community as they grow to become young adults.
“I am thrilled to see so many Framingham students participating in the afterschool activities at the bustling Pearl Street Clubhouse,” Rep Markey said. “It is important that programs such as the Boys and Girls Club continue to thrive so that our children have a safe, fun and enriching environment where they can gather each day to learn, play, and nurture a sense of belonging.”
