In light of North Korea’s reported nuclear weapon test, Congressman Ed Markey, the Co-Chair of the House Bipartisan Taskforce on Nonproliferation, continues to underscore the need to engage in diplomatic talks. While initially continuing Clinton-era policies but then antagonizing the North with “Axis of Evil” rhetoric, the Bush Administration continues to leave the US without a coherent policy in the face of Pyongyang’s brinkmanship.
