Today Rep. Edward J. Markey dropped the gavel for the first time in his Chairmanship of the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming. The inaugural hearing of this important committee discussed the ties between global warming and geopolitical conflicts arising from climate and resource disruptions.
