Washington, DC - Representative Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), Chairman of the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, visited China last week along with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and several other members of the Select Committee. The delegation traveled to China and Hong Kong to discuss many aspects of the U.S.-China relationship, including climate change, clean energy, and other aspects of the U.S.-China relationship.

In addition to Speaker Pelosi, the other members of the congressional delegation, all experts on issues related to clean energy and the environment, were Congressman James Sensenbrenner, Ranking Member and Republican of Wisconsin; Congressman Earl Blumenauer, Democrat of Oregon; Congressman Jay Inslee, Democrat of Washington state; and Congresswoman Jackie Speier, Democrat of California.
