Washington (October 27, 2015) – Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), a member of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, issued the following statement following the Senate’s approval of S.754, The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA).
“I opposed CISA because the legislation will open a floodgate of information sharing that could jeopardize Americans’ privacy and put their personal data at risk,” said Senator Markey. “While the Senate should enact strong cybersecurity legislation, it should not come at the expense of the privacy of the American people.
