Bipartisan resolution designating May as “National Brain Tumor Awareness Month” passes U.S. Senate

Washington (June 1, 2023) - Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and Steve Daines (R-Mont.) announced their bipartisan Senate resolution designating May 2023 as “National Brain Tumor Awareness Month” passed the U.S. Senate.

“Every year, too many families across our nation grieve the loss of a loved one who suffered from a brain tumor,” said Senator Markey. “With Massachusetts serving as a hub for biomedical research, Bay Staters recognize the importance of raising public awareness and pioneering solutions to help combat this deadly disease. I thank Senator Daines for his partnership in getting this resolution passed so that we can reaffirm our support to these families and find innovative treatments for brain cancer.”

“I’m pleased to designate May as ‘National Brain Tumor Awareness Month’ for the sixth year in a row to help promote public awareness of brain tumors, including the opportunities for advances in brain tumor research and treatment,” said Senator Daines. “We must continue to raise awareness on this important health issue that touches the lives of many Montanans and their families, including my own.”
