Washington (March 22, 2016) – Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) released the following statement on the terrorist attacks in Brussels.
“The attacks in Brussels are a senseless act of terror and violence and we must condemn them with both words and actions. We will always remember those whose lives were senselessly taken, and we will work with our European allies and partners to bring justice to those who have perpetrated these heinous crimes. The people of Brussels will endure and, together, they will heal stronger. We pray for the victims, their families and loved ones and all of Brussels and the European Union, and we stand ready to support them. While we must remain ever vigilant, we cannot and will never allow fear and hatred to win over tolerance and freedom.”
