WASHINGTON (November 26, 2014) -- Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), a member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, released the following statement regarding EPA's proposal to reduce ozone pollution, commonly referred to as smog.
"For decades the Clean Air Act has helped protect the health of Americans by following the recommendations of the nation's top doctors and scientists. I commend EPA's proposal to reduce the levels of ozone and encourage them to incorporate the latest science in their final rule. I look forward to working with the EPA to continue America's long record of cleaning up the air and growing the economy. Everyone in Massachusetts and around the country will be able to breathe a little easier once these new rules are in place."
