MEDFORD - Representative Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) honored Jack Dempsey of Medford High School this week with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition in honor of his tireless work on behalf of Medford’s veterans and in recognition of his outstanding and invaluable service to the City of Medford.  Jack worked with Medford resident Tom Convery to videotape almost 100 veterans for the Greatest Generation series at the Library of Congress.

Jack donated countless hours to work with Tom Convery to record courageous the stories of World War II veterans from Medford.” Rep. Markey said, “Jack videotaped almost 100 veterans for this project.  As a result, those videos are now at the Library of Congress as part of their Greatest Generation series.  Educators, scholars, and historians decades from now, will be able to look back at these videos and be inspired by Medford’s veterans.  Thanks to Jack and Tom, the stories of service, courage, and sacrifice from Medford’s veterans will be never be forgotten.”
