MEDFORD, MA – U.S. Representative Edward J. Markey is proud to announce that Michael Calnan of Winchester, Massachusetts has been appointed to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.  Michael was Representative Markey’s Principal Nomination to the Naval Academy.
 
Michael is the son of Jeffrey and Jo Calnan of Winchester.  He is a top student at Winchester High School where he has taken several AP classes.  Michael is also a varsity letterman for the sailing and swimming team.  He also volunteers for the TOPS Soccer program, where he coaches children with disabilities.  Michael will be a terrific addition to the United States Naval Academy.
