Arlington, MA- Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) hosted a town hall meeting on health care reform last night in Arlington. Over 300 people attended the event, where Markey outlined the need for comprehensive health care reform legislation.
“It is a great honor to represent the citizens of the 7th District and I am very pleased to have heard from so many of you last night,” said Markey.
“The status quo on health care has failed too many families, across the Commonwealth and across the country. Now is the time for real reform. And as Congress continues this historic debate, I will take your concerns back to Washington.”
Markey is a senior member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, one of three committees with jurisdiction over health care policy. In the coming weeks, Rep. Markey will join with other members of the House to consider landmark health care reform legislation.
