Medford, MA – Cal Brown, an Arlington resident, recently completed a summer internship in the Medford District Office of U.S. Representative Edward J. Markey.  He is a 2009 graduate of Arlington High School.  Cal is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Theory at Hampshire College.

Cal spent the summer as a liaison between Rep. Markey’s constituents and the federal government.  As a liaison, Cal advocated for those constituents who had matters pending before various federal agencies such as the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Health and Human Services.  Cal also researched and monitored legislation that had a direct impact on the residents of the 7th Congressional District.

“I am so thankful for the outstanding service Cal provided to the constituents of the 7th District this past summer,” Rep. Markey said.  “Educating students about public policy and the processes of the federal government is a service that I am so proud to offer in my Medford District Office and I always welcome new applications.”

To apply for internship in Rep. Markey’s Medford District Office, please send a cover and resume to Rocco DiRico in the Medford District Office.  If you have any questions, please contact Rocco at 781-396-2900.
